Two for One

Marie Ferro embraces the adage, “Two is better than one,” especially when it comes to satisfying the needs of her Malibu clients.

“These days, my clients go from wanting loose, free-form curls to sexy, stylized shapes,” she says. “These two looks are the most requested and both originate from one set.”

By creating a solid base and spending extra time meticulously prepping and setting the hair, Marie is able to manipulate and arrange the hair into several different styles without ever having to start over.

* To create these two looks, she set her model with a ¼-inch curling iron.

*Starting at the base and as close to the scalp as possible, she curled individual sections and clipped each one until completely cooled.

*For the look on the left, she took a classic style and put her own modern twist on it by sculpting it into a more interesting shape.

*To achieve the loose finger waves on the right, she combed out the set with a Mason Pearson brush and sprayed the hair into place.

*For volume at the root she used PHYTO Phytovolume Actif Volumizer Spray and a smidge of KMS Makeover Spray to give the hair some bulk.

*To finish, a small amount of PHYTO Professional Matte Texturizing Paste was used for definition and texture.
